Nix is a main pier of Cole Macgrath.She is known to be quite a hot-head when it comes to being around Kuo.She dispises the Militia and Bertrand for they killed her family when she was young.

Bertrand got hold of the Ray Sphere gathered a ring of outcast including Nix's family.Bertrand activated the Ray sphere while Nix was watching her family and the radiation got to her which gave her the power of fire/napalm
